New build cottages
This project was an exciting one for Frithsden Construction as it involved another aspect to our business - joint ventures. Considerable time was spent with the neighbouring homeowner, who had previously tried to obtain planning permission for the land next to his house in Herts but to no avail. So, we were called in to work with our architect and contacts within the local planning dept’ inorder to submit an application that would be seen as favourable by the planners and local community. After much negotiation we were proud to build 2 modern new build cottages, using local materials and composite timber windows in painswick grey. Creating 2 new sustainable family homes, whilst helping the homeowner release the potential in his land, that would have otherwise been left as waste land.

The cottages offer 3 bedrooms, bathroom, lounge, study, cloakroom with 2nd shower, and large open plan kitchen/dining room with bifold doors overlooking the rear garden and far-reaching views of open fields & countryside. Air source heat pumps were fitted to meet renewable needs and helping to provide incredibly low energy bills for the new homeowners, along with EV car charging points.

We also just wanted to say something about everyone that you employed or subcontracted to work on our house. They were always very respectful, very friendly and helpful whenever we discussed things with them or just turned up to see how things were going. You certainly use a good range of quality contractors and outside companies and individuals to perform the various trades required.
We’ve been in our house now for about 7 months and as with any new build there has obviously been the odd snagging issues.
On the few occasions we’ve called you, you’ve always been approachable and contactable with any questions we’ve had and we’ve been impressed with your immediate response to rectify any little issue.
As we said at the beginning, we cannot recommend you enough for the top quality that you put into every aspect of the project, so credit where it’s due. We are happy to recommend you and to speak to any prospective owners/clients you have in the future.
